This year I’ve decided to enter the Maxim Cover Girl contest.

I‘m 39 years old, I’m a mom of 2 beautiful girls, 9 and 6-year-old, I’ve had 2 bouts with skin cancer which left me with a scar on my face and a big old scar on my back and damn it do I wish I had the belly button I had before having kids… but I’m ok with all of it.

With each new age comes a new way of thinking about life.

I think about being a good role model for my daughters. I always tell them it’s not all about being pretty. It’s about stepping out of your comfort zone, being courageous and confident with who you are and inspiring others to do the same. I’m not expecting to win this but I’m proud to say I’m brave enough to try because I believe you can do anything at any age!

I also want to give a big shout out to the Homes for Wounded Warriors Foundation which Maxim has partnered with to raise money for our nation‘s combat veterans!

This hits home for me, as my husband spent time in active duty military and is currently Commander in the Navy Reserves. Also many of his friends (and his father) who have and still serve our Country! When voting for me please consider donating to this awesome foundation!
